There has been a recurring trend during elections where we see several non-profit organizations, exempted from paying taxes and donating money to official organizations under the pretense that they are providing relief funds.
Wisconsin voters have now decided to join other states in supporting the new bill passed: they have decided to pass two new constitutional amendments that would prohibit the provision of private funds (Zuckerberg) to official election organizations within the walls of Wisconsin.
Mark Zuckerberg’s Alleged Involvement In The 2020 Election
Although providing private funds during elections has always been a thing, it became a big issue when reports hit the streets that Mark Zuckerberg was involved in the 2020 election through the Center for Tech and Civil Life a liberal and nonprofit organization.
Mark Zuckerberg allegedly directed a huge amount of money toward Ohio, Texas, Nevada, Georgia Arizona, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota. There was a total lack of transparency and no one knew its exact use which made everyone believe that it was to help influence the 2020 election.
Representative Claudia Tenney’s New Bill
As a way to stop private funding from disrupting the country’s democratic process, Congresswoman Claudia Tenney who is a part of New York’s 24th Congressional District has proposed a bill that will help to prevent tax-exempt organizations from providing funds to organizations in charge of elections.
Tenney added that actions like this will only make the country’s citizens lose their confidence in the country’s democratic system.
Wisconsin Has Finally Agreed To Pass The Ban
Finally, the two constitutional amendments that were proposed by the republican lawmakers of Wisconsin have now received enough support to be approved. One of the amendments aims to prohibit the clerks and election officials from collecting private grant money for elections.
The second amendment will aim to make sure that only designated election officials have the right to conduct elections. This will help to ensure that there’s no involvement from individuals outside the election organization.
The People Of Wisconsin Have Decided
Brian Schimming made a statement about the issue, he mentioned that the passing of these constitutional amendments was a collective decision made by all the residents of Wisconsin.
Brian further stated that this decision is a clear one, and it is for everyone to understand that elections belong to the voters themselves and not to any wealthy individuals who have powers to influence elections.
The Democrats Are Not On The Same Page
The Democrats seem not to be in support of both constitutional amendments. They believe that these sudden changes will only make it difficult for the government to conduct elections.
The Democrats also mentioned that a particular language used in one of the amendments will only bring confusion. To them, the term election officials will have different interpretations and implementations by the local election officials.
The $300 Million Donation
The two constitutional amendments were set up as a way to respond to the grant money that was distributed to Wisconsin during the 2020 election period. This funding came from the Center For Tech And Civil Life.
This was when the CTCL received a huge amount of money from the influential Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan. Although they claimed that the money was to help get some election materials, others believe that there was a different intention behind it.
It Was To Help Deal With The Corona Outbreak
Mark and his wife stated that the money had a specific purpose and it was given to CTCL to assist the local jurisdictions in dealing with COVID-19. The money was used to cover expenses for ballot drop boxes, protective gear for poll workers, and hiring more staff.
The funding was also to be used to support the public’s education. It was to help inform the public about the new ways to vote for their preferred candidates.
The Finding Was To Help The Democrats
Based on the result of the 2020 election, Republicans all over the nation have concluded that Mark’s funds helped the Democrats during the election.
To make matters worse, all the largest cities in the country which Biden won all received funds from CTCL. These cities were part of at least 200 communities that received approximately $10 million in grant funds in 2020.
The State’s Decision To Ban Zuckerbergs Is Pleasing
The Former Attorney General of Virginia and the current national chairman of the election transparency initiative Ken Cuccinelli had something to say concerning the constitutional amendments.
He mentioned how pleased he was to hear the swift outcome of the votes supporting the ban on funding provided by private individuals. He believes that they were motivated by Governor Ever’s political veto decisions.
Wisconsin Is Now The 28th State To Ban Zuckerberg
Going by the data report which was provided by the Foundation for Government Accountability, Wisconsin has now become the 28th state to stop the use of private funds during the elections.
This means that Wisconsin has now joined states like Ohio, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, West Virginia, North Dakota, Oklahoma, and Louisiana among all others.
Wisconsin Is Important To The National Election
Sam Rogers during an interview with Fox News Digital mentioned that Wisconsin will always have a great influence on the election and the fact that they have decided to enshrine this into their constitution means a whole lot.
Now, the people of Wisconsin will have greater confidence and trust in their voting system. One thing is also sure, that’s the fact that these changes will have a positive effect on the coming 2024 November election.
A Positive Step Towards And Independent Electoral Process
The executive director of the Honest Election Project Jason Snead seems impressed with Wisconsin’s decision. He went ahead to praise the successful approval of the state’s ballot measures.
Snead believes that passing the ballot measures was a way to help solidify the prohibition of private involvement in the elections of the state.
They Should Be Banned In All 50 States
Snead also mentioned that initiatives like Zuckerberg’s will do nothing but plant suspicions around the election results. And to get rid of all suspicions the states across the USA will have to ban Zuckerbergs.
In Snead’s opinion, individuals or groups with huge financial influence have no reason in the country’s business and they should not be allowed to have any influence over the country’s election.
