President Biden was taken to court in December in an impeachment inquiry. The prosecutors accused him of funding his son’s business while working for Obama.

Biden and other associates gave their testimony on Thursday. But it seems that President Biden lied. This news came from Republican Rep. James Comer. He studied the testimonies and discovered that Biden’s was inconsistent.

The Court Case Against Joe Biden

It’s important to give context about the whole situation. In December 2023, President Joe Biden was taken to court by the House of Representatives. This decision received a vote of 221-212.

According to the House, the President was suspected of using his influence improperly. He supported his son’s business with government money while working under President Obama. This conduct is viewed as an improper use of American assets.

Biden Denied The Allegations

Stealing taxpayers’ money to fund your personal project is embezzlement. It’s a serious crime in the United States. If found guilty, President Biden may face severe consequences. However, he testified and denied the allegations.

Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, dismissed the impeachment inquiry as unnecessary. Hunter Biden even called it a political attack from people who don’t like the president. But there was a problem with his testimony.

A Problem With Biden’s Testimony

Republican Rep. James Comer wrote a letter citing the previous week’s public hearing. The session was with Biden’s former associates, including Tony Bobulinski and Jason Galanis.

Comer quickly pointed out that their testimony contradicted Biden’s statements. Both associates had similar stories, but Biden’s account didn’t match what was said. Something is up!

Biden Is Summoned To Court Again

The inconsistency doesn’t necessarily mean Biden lied. That would be jumping to conclusions. Besides, many see Biden as an old man. He often slurs his speech or seems disoriented.

To ensure their conclusion is factual, the court has summoned Biden again. “It is in the best interest of the American people for you to answer questions from Members of Congress. I hereby invite you to do so.”

‘Biden Obviously Lied’

The House of Representatives is giving Biden the chance to correct any misconceptions. However, others don’t grant him that luxury. One of these impatient people is Turley. He is a legal professor at Georgia Washington University.

The professor wrote on his website that Comer’s letter is enough proof that Biden lied. He wrote. “the Committee has laid out evidence showing that the President had lied repeatedly.”

The White House Responded

The White House got hold of the news and responded. However, many regarded their response to be odd. The account pointed to a tweet on March 20 by spokesman Ian Sams.

The post referenced by the white house read. “Comer knows 20+ witnesses have testified that POTUS did nothing wrong. He knows that the…records he’s received have refuted his false allegations. This is a sad stunt at the end of a dead impeachment. Call it a day, pal.”

‘The White House Is Disrespectful’

Turley gave his opinion of the White House’s response. He claimed the reply was disrespectful and taunting. It basically had no interest in uncovering the truth.

Turley further points out that a response like that would have been impossible a few years ago. Sadly, the media has now made it possible to deny and deflect instead of trying to answer the questions.

People Aren’t On Biden’s Side

A poll asked Americans about their opinion on Biden’s impeachment inquiry. Did he steal money to boost his son’s business, or was this just another unnecessary battle? The results were surprising.

The result showed that more than half of Americans don’t support Biden. How many? Approximately 56% of the people think he participated in Hunter Biden’s business.

The Numbers Are Shrinking

It’s worth pointing out that previously, the number of people against him was 59%. Now, it’s dropped by 3%, and many believe it may decline even further.

Amongst the people who don’t support Biden, Democrats took the cake. 63% of them believe Biden was involved with his son’s business. Independents also shared this opinion, with 47% being against Biden.

What If Biden Was Caught Lying?

For now, the House has requested that the president return. But why if he comes back and further investigation shows that he lied? The repercussions will depend on the gravity of the lie.

He could receive a heavy fine or a physically mild penalty based on the lie and his age. However, it may also be enough reason for the court to start the impeachment process.

The Problem With Impeaching Biden

Legal experts have given their opinion on a possible impeachment. Some say it’s unlikely. First, removing him from office will take a long time. This wouldn’t make sense since the next presidential election is a few months away.

At the same time, removing the president requires the vote of 67 senators. However, it’ll be difficult to get this agreement. Why? The Senate consists mostly of Democrats. It’s unlikely they will remove one of their own for embezzlement.

Another Problem With The Impeachment Case

For now, the biggest problem with Biden’s case is evidence. There aren’t enough facts to say that Biden invested stolen money in his son’s business. This opinion comes from looking at nearly 40,000 pages of bank records.

The testimony of his former associates is the best evidence yet to verify whether Biden did it or not. So, it’s still a tricky position even if Biden returns to court for clarifications.

Did Biden Lie?

So far, roughly 53% of Americans are convinced that the president is guilty. For now, there is little evidence to support the claim. However, some say that inconsistent testimony is enough proof.

However, it’s possible that Biden’s legal team will find a way to clarify the misconception. Nevertheless, proving that Biden willingly lied in court is tricky. It requires an investigation. So, the court may end up going with the most likely explanation that Biden’s team will provide.
